Here is a quick guideline on how to set it up.
Step 1: Unlock Forwarding module in Transportly TMS
Great news! Freight forwarding functions are available immediately after you sign up for the 14-day Free Trial of Carrier + Forwarder package, or Freemium package, which is available for free up to 30 registered transports per month.
Step 2: Adding carriers to address book
After you register, it is time to start your new address book of your carriers. This is important because you will use this address book later on while assigning transports to them.
Step 3: Sending a transport order to a carrier
Now, you are ready to create your first transport order for an external carrier in Transportly TMS. Forget writing a manual email to your carrier with all the details of the transportation. Now you can send him/her a PDF made in Transportly TMS.
After creating an external transport and filling in necessary details, you have the option to
“Send transport order” which will send a PDF with all the necessary details you have put in the system to the carrier of your choice.
Step 4: Tracking vehicles in Transportly Driver App
Wanting to take your transports a step further? Ask the driver to download the Transportly Driver App which will track the delivery of your goods throughout the whole duration of transport. To do this, just click “Invite driver to the app” and a text message with the link to download Transportly Driver App with a single use code* for a driver will be automatically sent to your driver.
*The driver’s phone is tracked only while the transport for you is active.
